Factions/Character Questions. - Guild Wars Forums

Hi there,
Apologies in advanced if these questions have popped up before many times (I couldn't find any recent threads).

1: I was wondering if anyone could tell me if it is possible for each individual character (On the same account) to be in different factions, for example: My Warrior in Luxon and my Necromancer in Kurzick?

Currently my Guild isn't allied with either side, which brings me onto my next question...

2: If my Guild picks a Faction to ally with, does that affect the Factions that my characters can choose from? or am I confused with this?

1) Faction Earned is account based. If you have more Luxon than Kurzick - you have more Luxon than Kurzick on EVERY character.

2) No, Alliance has nothing to do with what your pve characters pick to do.

This isn't limiting though - Its QUITE easy to manipulate which faction you have more of, and thats the ONLY factor in considering what you are. So the same character can easily go through both sides with no penalty.

You can even do the missions/quests of the opposing side with NO PENALTY (the NPCs still reward you, like you were their faction).

ONLY differences it makes on the PVE Side is which merchants/traders will talk to you, and in explorable areas, you'll have to bribe the priests to let you use the rez shrines near the towns - But in MOST areas their are rez shrines that are not faction dependent - so its a waste to bribe him.

Ah, thanks for the info, but just so I have it clear in my mind...
It's possible to (for example) work up your Luxon faction, obtain the Luxon armour and later on stop with Luxon and work up Kurzick faction and obtain their armour too?

Yes. As long as you have more faction for the side you want to deal with, they will talk to you.
